With the winter fast approaching and my new pregnancy skin to look after I've been changing up my skincare and stumbled across two new favourites that have become daily go to products over the last couple of months.
I’m a Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish girl through and through but I wanted something to use as the first step of my evening skincare routine to remove my stubborn eye makeup; cue Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I stumbled across this little gem in Boots as it was on special offer at £1 for the smallest size (125ml). Unlike many other more expensive cleansers I’ve tried, this didn’t sting my eyes at all. The formula quickly and gently removes most of my eye makeup and feels lovely and cooling on the skin, meaning I don’t have to use as much as much of my Liz Earle cleanser. I’ve since repurchased this in the large (700ml) from Boots and the 400ml size from Sainsbury’s as it was on special offer in store.
My second new find is the Garnier Natural 3 in 1 Soothing Rose Botanical Balm (140ml) £12.99. Nearing the last few uses of my Mama Mio Brightening Day and Night Cream (that can only be purchased as part of a set), I was ready to repurchase my faithful Clarins. However, when the assistant began advising me that I really needed two products at over £35 each, I decided to look to buy something more affordable that I wouldn’t mind slathering on my dehydrated, hormonal skin. I’d seen a few bloggers use this product recently and was pleased to see that it contains 96% natural ingredients and no parabens. There wasn’t a tester available to try in Boots and I don’t like heavily rose scented products, but I’m so pleased I decided to give it a go. My husband (R) even commented on how lovely my skin looked the other evening and I really think that its down to this. The thick, creamy texture is so hydrating on my skin that I’ve even noticed an improvement in the lines on my forehead. The scent is so light and refreshing, I actually really like it and I love that it can be used in three ways; as a day or night cream and a face mask. I do find it much heavier for a day cream than my usual products but my makeup goes on fine after I’ve let it sink in a little. Also it doesn’t contain any SPF, making it more suitable as part of a night time routine or pamper treatment. I’ll definitely be looking to see if I can find another Garner moisturiser I prefer for day but will continue using this one for now.
Thank you for stopping by!
